MUAR: The Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (TSM) Charity Golf Foundation plans to build a 10-room dialysis centre on a plot next to the Pagoh Umno division complex.
The centre costing RM1mil, would be managed by the Kumpulan Perubatan Johor (KPJ) and caters to the needs of kidney patients in the constituency.
A gift: Muhyiddin (centre) witnessing the surrendering of plot documents between land owner Rashidah to the foundation’s representative Wan Shalihudin.
One of the foundation committee member Datuk Wan Shalihudin Wan Ibrahim said the landowner Datin Rashidah Yusof had donated her plot to the foundation to expedite the project.
He said the deputy premier, who is the patron of the foundation, had approved the project which would begin construction early next year.
“We expect to carry out the ground breaking ceremony at the end of this year and we hope the centre can be completed by the end of 2013.”
“Besides the dialysis centre, we also plan to build a futsal field with five futsal courts and a gymnasium on the plot,” he added.
Wan Shalihudin said the gymnasium which would be called a village-gym, was aimed at encouraging the Pagoh youths to take up weightlifting and body building.
He added that Muhyiddin had wanted youths in the parliamentary to be active in sports and the foundation to also build the two sport arenas.
Commenting on the matter, Pagoh Umno division deputy chairman Datuk Tahir Taat thanked the landowner and her husband Datuk Hatta Mohammed for donating the plot to the foundation.
He added that Hatta is also the division’s vice chairman and Umno Pagoh was proud of the family’s contribution to donate the plot to the foundation.
