
NEW LEASE OF LIFE: 11 children and three teenagers get RM131,800 for operations and medical equipment
SHAH ALAM: IN THE spirit of giving, 11 children and three teenagers were given hope for a new lease of life at the Tan Sri Muhyiddin (TSM) Charity Golf Raya celebration last night.

The 14 cases, most of which had been featured in the New Straits Times Press publications, received a total of RM131,800 in donations to undergo various operations from TSM founder and Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. Also present was his wife Puan Sri Norainee Abdul Rahman.
The donations will also go towards treating various ailments and includes corrective surgeries for heart defects and other medical conditions, as well as to purchase medical equipment.
The recipients are Nurin Iman Mohd Fadhly, 9 months (RM10,000), Yean Wen Yee 21 months (RM10,000), Teo Hui Ru, 7 years old (RM10,000), Wasyth Massury, 16 years old (RM10,000), Lai Wing Ching, 14 years old (RM10,000), Hari Krishnan Kunalan, 3 months (RM5,000) and Wang Pick Hoon, 20 years old (RM10,000).
Other recipients are Aqil Harits Mohd Najib, 4 years old (RM10,000), Nur Fitrah Usof, 9 years old (RM6,800), Ong Zhi Kang, 4 months (RM10,000), Muhammad Aimy Afwan Mohamad Shariza, 3 months (RM10,000), Loh Zhen Hong, 3 years old (RM10,000), and 1-year- old twins Ting Zhi Hao and Ting Zhi Xi who received RM10,000 each.
The father of one of the recipients, Massury Osman 43, said he was grateful for the timely contribution as his son’s condition had worsened lately.
“My son suffers from Adolescence Idopathic Scoliosis and it is now 65 degrees and this makes him grow easily tired”.
“I work as a security guard and there is no way I can raise RM20,000 for his operation.”
“With this contribution, I have renewed hope that my son can live his life like other teenagers.”
Also present were TSM Charity Golf president Tan Sri Megat Najmuddin Megat Khas and Media Prima executive director (news and editorial operations) Datuk Ahmad A. Talib.
Megat Najmuddin, in his speech earlier, said the 10-year-old charity association had grown stronger due to the hard work of members.
“Soon, our dialysis centre in Titiwangsa will start operating.”
At the event, some 50 orphans also received duit raya from the TSM Charity Golf Association while 17 other groups, including the Veteran Police Association and charity homes, received contributions such as wheelchairs and donations amounting to more than RM150,000.
